The Art of Adjustment (A Jivamukti-inspired workshop on how to safely assist) with Kristin Khor
25-27 November and 3-4 December Asia Square Tower

Add to Outlook calendar    Add this event to Outlook calendar

About the Workshop
The Art of Adjustment is not just about coming in and putting someone into a correct position. It is about being able to look at all different types of bodies and seeing where the energy is stagnant, knowing your own energy, and being able to give an adjustment where and when it is necessary - knowing and feeling how much the student needs and how much you have to give.

Over two weekends, the workshop will focus on how to apply a safe and thorough assist in a private or open class using the least amount of energy by learning about the physical, psychological and spiritual aspects behind the art of an adjustment.

Each day will focus on a different theme and category of asana.

• Day 1 : Standing poses
• Day 2: Forward bends
• Day 3: Twists
• Day 4: Backbends and inversions

*A vinyasa class where the students will pair up giving each other an ICP (In-class private)

**Students must pair up with someone different so they get a feel of how one assist may work with different body types

Props will be used, not only on a student in a class but to demonstrate how it can benefit a teacher in assisting their student. Just like yoga, assisting is a practice -- it is about repetition so the workshop will be quite rigorous. But only through consistency will the art of an assist finally come together naturally with the breath and through a flow.

Workshop taught in English.

About Kristin
Born in Washington D.C., Kristin found yoga during university in Sydney. She knew from her first Savasana that she had to share this wonderful experience with the world. Her journey of yoga is never-ending and always changing. Yoga is the people who surround her, the places she visits, the music she listens to, the food she eats, the conversations she has, the beauty in nature, and the constant magic that happens in learning to really let go, be grateful and be present.

She is blessed to have crossed paths with so many inspirational students in her life and is ever grateful to her teachers - Sangeeta Vallabhan, Rima Rabbath, Monica Jaggi, Elena Bower, Sharon Gannon, David Life and Andrei Ram. They have each in their own way opened her heart to this amazing world and she only hopes to share such Bhakti with those who are ready to listen.

Kristin's classes incorporate the teachings of yoga from her perspective with music, flow, meditation, a calm voice, a steady breath, juicy assists and always Savasana (sometimes with lavender lotion.) She hopes to make her students feel as good as she does when they step off their mat to go back to their day.
